I’ve been sharpening for more than 40 years, professionally for about 8 years, and full-time since January of 2025. Before owning my own business I worked for the city of Seattle as an Animal Control Officer/Animal Cruelty Investigator and have worked with animals and their people for most of my professional life. Before that I managed a 24-hour emergency, critical care, and referral hospital. At that time I was one of fewer than 300 board certified Veterinary Technician Specialists in Emergency and Critical Care medicine in the world. I also worked in a volunteer capacity with King County Search and Rescue as a Search and Rescue K-9 handler and search manager for 18 years. During that time I certified and deployed two dogs in trailing, cadaver search, water search, and avalanche search.

Nearly all of my free time is spent with my family, including our Belgian malinois Luke, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.
